Warm Welcome from the Organizing and Scientific Committees of AASP 2023
Welcome to Hong Kong for EdUHK’s AASP 2023, the 15th Biennial conference of the Asian Association of Social Psychology! We are so glad that 2023 allows us the opportunity to meet up with Social Psychologists from across the pan-Asian region, and learn about the most recent research on social psychology in Asia. This conference, hosted and organized in Hong Kong by the Department of Psychology at The Education University of Hong Kong, promises to be an exceptional one in terms of both quantity and quality of research to be presented. As Hong Kong has fully opened up to the world, we are glad that it can again serve as a global hub. We can’t wait to facilitate connections between researchers and students from different countries, united by their excitement about understanding how individuals and social situations interact.
Our theme this year is "Asian Social Psychology in the Face of Global Challenges: Achievements and Opportunities." While the last few years have been challenging, they have also afforded new methods of connection, new research topics, and new insights into the human mind.
Building on extensive (extensive!) experience with different modes of online interactivity over the past few years, EdUHK is excited to be able to hold AASP 2023 in full "live hybrid" mode. Symposia and paper sessions will be both in-person and shown in parallel on Zoom, with in-person and online audience interactions facilitated by our up-to-date hybrid teaching facilities at EdUHK and our experienced staff and students. Poster sessions will also have both online and in-person options with special events for greater interactivity.
As registrations continue rolling in, we are glad to know that a large committed audience will be on the ground in Hong Kong, and are also glad we can offer the online option to give greater flexibility and accessibility. We promise a fruitful experience for both modes. Attendees can decide if they will take advantage of the convenience of an online mode, or to come to Hong Kong and enjoy the travel and social-intellectual interactions that are the key pleasures of an in-person event!
